sharkster I´ve seen you webpage and your car has the power of God inside him Congrats in owning such a beast.

Can you give me the link for the post where your car was tested together with all the other 996 beasts? Someone posted sometime ago the all review with lots of pics but I can´t seem to find it. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip. Just read what they told about your car, gosh we´re almost talking about Carrera GT performance in a car that can be used daily

Hehe.. It's too bad that they only got the third run and not the first two where I had better launches and traps speeds. I've since been to the track and trapped a 127.8mph.... We'll never know but most people there said that one of those runs was a 10... I've changes suspension and today am fixing the braking issues so it should be evenbetter on the track than before

I'd still be J. Leno tho...

Actually is was neither of them, I was refering to your butt dyno , as you didn´t seemed much impressed by the first drive you gave with the supercharger. I know you didn´t have the time to test it properly, but even so I was expecting some more excitment from your words. Kirby has made a test drive with your car and haven´t said any word about the supercharger power too, living me thinking that both of you were not impressed by this mod. That´s why I was asking for a more detail test drive report

Thanks for the pics you posted. I´m very surprised to see the place where they put the air filter Is there any air from out side blowing there It seems that the only air the intake gets , it´s from the engine bay itself which is not the coolest air

It will be curious to know the final result between the 996 Supercharged vs 996 Turbo. I still think the 996 Turbo will be just a bit fast which is a great result for the 996 SC.

What is the difference in weight between the normal batery, and the one you have on your car? Thanks in advance.
Hi J.Seven;

I didn't want to make a comment till I had enough seat time. I also drove a S/C car prior to installing mines' and when I first drove that car it did put a big smile on my face. That's probably why my initial comments were toned down since it's not new to me. The ECU was also reprogrammed, I since drove the car for about 300 miles and it relearned my driving habit. The car is definitely more "perkier" now. It has a lunging characteristic when I tap on the throttle and is faster (according to my speedometer) for any given gear for the same relative throttle position compare to pre-S/C. This behavior is easy to see just by steady highway cruising speed. Since the car is faster for the same relative throttle position I now have a tendency to stay in lower gears longer.
To summarize, I LIKE IT

The air filter/intake might be a non-issue. I download data from my carchip data acquisition system and the air intake temperature avg. between 110-120 F which is less than the engine water temperature of about 190F.
I'll post all my graphs tonight when I get home in addition to the dyno runs that's happening later today.

My brother and I will work out the logistics of doing the test between his 966TT and my S/C.

I'm not sure what the weight is on a stock battery because my battery was already lighter than stock. Changing out for the dry cell drop it even more by 17 lbs.

After driving the car for a couple of days the whistling noise is getting to me.
I was hoping for something a little more stealthy because I like the sleeper concept.

Sharkster;

I like to look you in the eye and see if you can say "stock" with a straight face.
I seen your monster at the Feb. Bay Area drive to Carmel and read about it in the magazines. My puny S/C is no match for your black beast.

Ken, do you have the numbers from the intake temperature pre-SC? This way, you could see exactly thye differences in temperature pre-SC and after-SC. Now get those dino numbers on-line althought I have to say that the butt is the one that counts

From your firts dino tests, your car was making 260Hp. Those were RWHP numbers right?

Unfortunately I don't have pre-S/C intake temperatures because I just purchase the CarChip device a couple of days ago.

Agreed, the butt is the one that counts

Yes, first dyno test numbers were RWHP numbers.
