Replace Trunk / Hood release levers

I searched:

I could not find a thread to replace the Hood / Trunk release levers and more important where to buy them.

After contacting the local P-Dealer and they said that I need to buy a kit (assembly) that was several hundred dollars. He said that the Levers are not sold seperatly (anymore).

Replacing them might be easy - where to buy the replacements is my main question.

Porsche doesnt sell the levers individually anymore but some dealers still have them and they show up on ebay every once in a while.

OrangeC:

Thanks for that tip. I will also consider painting the existing one(s). I just bought the 99C2 this Fall and from what I could tell the rear was replaced with new and the front is orginal (scratches and all).

Now why they did not just replace both? Perhaps they are hard to find.

Thanks for the tips,

A number of folks have tried to find just the levers....to no avail. Most have just repainted them. I don't know if they'd having them chromed, silver plated, or some other electrolisis process. They just scratch so easily as you take your right foot out.

Eric the Plug Guy - Repaint:

Not a bad idea! In fact I will be in Charlotte later this week and plan to stop in to see the guys at Bumperplugs.

Thanks for that great tip!
