Nice job

I think one can say you put your heart and sweat into this transformation. Congrat's. There's nothing more satisfying than doing it yourself. There's no way I could attempt this feat, but for myself just changing my oil is a feat all in itself. Enjoy...

You know, I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I can bring a car back from the brink.... This was a good project and I am sure it will give me many years of happiness.

Actually, most of the body damage was just bolt on stuff... nothing structural other than the suspension arms and a hole through the engine block (long story). I was even able to reuse the drivers side AC condensor (Radiator end tank however cracked). The rear bumper is a aftermarket fiberglass turbo look version that came with the car uninstalled. Not sure who makes it but the fitment is not bad to me. I did end up upgrading the rear bumperettes to the 02+ version painted. Most of the body work was just bolt on for a new fender, bumpercover, and headlights. Considering what I had to work with I think it came out nice. LOL

Hey, the after looks great! were you the owner of the car when it was in the "before" (crashed) state, or did you get it like that and do all the "after" work...?

Nope, bought it off of an ad in Autotrader from a guy in LA... the story is that he spun out on the freeway in the rain and hit a curb that knocked out the drivers side suspension and kissed a guardrail on the front corner. I took a chance trailering it back to my house and hoping I would not go broke fixing it up... seems to have worked.

The funny thing was that after I had paid him and we did the paperwork the bodyshop ended up using floor jacks to get it on my car trailer (it would not move on its own) and punched a hole through the engine block!! I told the guy I did not want the car at that point but he was desperate to get rid of it. He gave me the money for a new motor (mostly) just to get it out of there. That was one hell of a long day!
