996 alarm Tilt Sensor logging errors / fasle alarms

So my alarm has been randomly going off when locked and sitting idle. Happens mostly when the tempurature changes throughout the day.
Driving me bananas and I am hugely unpopular with the neighbors.

I bought a Durametric scanner to try and track down the offending sensor, and initally thought it was the interior sensor. I replaced it, and it is still falsing.

Now when I looked at the durametric after the latest false alarm I saw that error code 54 for the tilt sensor had incremented by one count, and noted with "not in idle position"
Does my '02 US car have a tilt sensor and where is it located?

update-
So I discovered that code "54" is for the radio alarm wire. Durametric is updating their software to show the proper discription for this code.

I pulled out my Kenwood NAV and saw that I had re-plugged in the blue/brown alarm wire to the factory radio mount bracket. This apparently was not sending the proper feedback signal to the alarm with the Kenwood installed, hence the occasional false alarm.

I disconnected the radio alarm wire and it seems to have fixed the issue.

cool- well mod and learn right??

Per Loren at renntech you are supposed to just tape it up and not connect it, but if you are not having any issues (horn honks once when locking car, etc), then just leave as-is.
