Rattle when I open the sunroof

Someone please know the fix to this because it's driving me crazy. Whenever I open my sunroof and hit a bump something inbetween the headliner adn roof is rattling. But only when the sunroof is open. Anyone know what's going on with this??

There is a TSB about putting foam in the sunroof area. Join www.renntech.org and look at the TSB areas. I think there was a recent post about it also.

I think it's the support bar in mine. Park Place Porsche quoted me $200 to fix. Seems a little excessive...

FYI, I had the exact same problem--was the headliner stiffener (not sure if this is the correct term) just behind the sunroof. I could put my hand on it and the rattle would stop. Cost something over $100 but less than $200 to fix. Required partial removal of the headliner, which is why I had the dealer do it. It's really worth it. Drove me nuts as I like to use the sunroof!

I fixed it. Preety simple to fix.

Just remove the 2 hooks on the B pillars, remove the screw from behind, pull the C pillar out a bit and grab the headliner from behind and pull towards the rear of the car....it'll unhook.

Then open the sunroof. The open sunroof sound is coming from a plastic water guide flapping over bumps when the sunroof is open (its located on the back part of the sunroof on the bottom. put a small piece of dynamat around it and it'll stop.

The headliner sound is coming from the clips of the headliner moving up and down...if you stick some dynamat around the clips area it'll stop.

Split- if you want to fix it, just PM me, i'll fix it for you
