Hey Trev,

Can you photoshop that kit in black? Just curious to see how it looks.

No the rear turbo bumper won't fit w/o modification.

No way, learn Photoshop and do it yourself!

Only joking Ill give it a quick go later when i get home although I don't know how good it will look as GT3 details such as the front bonnet air duct might look be a little lost on a black car.

Ordered some back issues of total 911 magazine today which will hopefully give me some tips and advice on buying a 996 and also 2 issues I have ordered look at 996 - 997 conversions, how to do them using orignal porsche parts and how convincing the end result is which I thought might be an interesting read

http://www.total911.com/products.asp?cat=14

Just out of interest what are the official 0-60 and top speed figures for the early 996 3.4 C2 and the later 3.6 C2?

The difference between the 99 and 02 is minimal, the car over time gained a little weight so performance isn't too different. The best times I've seen posted for a C2/C4

0-60mph 4.9 sec (Usually see 4.9-5.2)

¼ mi 13.2 sec @ 106.7mph (Usually see 13.3-13.4)
Skidpad .95g (C4)

Slalom 71.4mph (C4)

Top Speed 177mph (Usually see 173-177)

Don't worry if the photoshop is too much trouble, I don't know the first thing about it.

Cheers for the figures, as promised here is the car in black. Difficult to get it quite right but gives you a good idea of how it might look.

Right a couple more parts for the shopping list. I am looking for a place that sells these seats or can you buy them directly from porsche and if so whats the correct name for them?

Also the rear bumper I want to fit has the option of a central exhaust outlet so can anyone recommend a decent company that produce exhaust systems similar to the gt3 exhaust with the two pipes in the middle of the bumper (a bit like a boxster). Ideally I'd like something with a good sound but not something OTT in the sound department

Cheers again

I found this exhaust by Quicksilver but not sure they do a similar system for a carrera 2, looks good though, adds 20bhp and reduces the weight by 30kg

If you want the center exhaust you would have to do custom. They do sell GT3 rear bumpers that accommodate the 996 exhaust on the sides. I'd recommend that. Those are the new GT3 seats and will cost you a fortune. Get the older ones that many people have, there's a guy selling a pair for $2300. Typical prices range $1500-3000.

unless you are planning on keeping the car forever (not worried about resale etc), it's defintely not worth it ...
