you use the turbo or c4s wiring harness for a litronic set up. take in mind there are 2 types of 03 lights, litronic and non-litronic. about $180 each side. good luck, you will need the trays, fender and brackets as well.

talk about an expensive upgrade. By the time you are done with the bumper, brackets, fenders, litronic headlights, harness, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if you are out $10 grand.

Wait... Hamann7 is right! The MY03 turbo front lights are of diff. shape & will not fit pre MY02 cars without extensive(expensive) body panel works, but you can get after market turbo-style frt bumper that fit pre MY02 lights.

I didn't think it was possible to retrofit litronics like you can on the boxster. I purchased a 996 that had the standard headlights and inquired on here or maybe funcars about doing the retrofit and was told at that time it was not possible but some people were working on them(Robyn?).

I have an '03 coupe so is it possible to do it now?

Shane,
I am interested in a turbo front bumper for my 03 cab. Do you know where I can get a good deal on one? It looks like you did some leg work on this. PM me or post if you have any info.
Thanks,
Neil

If the price is so cheap on the harnass...why aren't more people doing this change? I'm not buying this one. I don't think it can be done without a complete rewire. (Non HID is like 6 pin, HID is like 12 pin) Not sure if any progress has been made on that. But, it's not just a plug and play sorta thing. Especially if you are going from a 99 style to the 02 style.

$4000 plus for headlights? To each their own, but I'd rather sink the money into something that will enhance performance. Just my two cents.

a wiring harness is a complete rewire, but it just plugs in. actually it's quite a simple job that can be done at home, all you need is the fenders painted and just bolt the fenders on yourself. just unplug the old wiring harness and plug in the new one and ta da, litronic '02 conversion. have seen many done. sounds crazy but it's true.

Eric

When we pulled out my head lights and compared them to Kirby's...the pins were completely different, wires were missing on his compared to mine. How is you accomplished this by a plug? How did you guys make it work which pins did you move to make it work?? Inquiring minds wanna know...plenty of folks would like to do this mod.

blondie,
i thought you and kirby had the same cars. maybe one of you are not litronic. on your headlights there is a metal box on the back which i'm sure you already know, but that is your litronic unit. as for the plug, that entire wire all the way throught the fender to the other end is replaced. just buy the replacement wiring harness and exchange the entire thing. i have seen '02 non litronic lights be converted from a 99 by adding the litronic box unit on the "02 head lights. check that out on yours and kirbys lights. if not sneak over to kirby's place and jack his headlights that way all you need to do is buy the wiring harness. plus i heard you bay area people are pro's at it. good luck and don't leave any finger prints.

hey Neil
u need to change the hdlts and the fenders with the turbo bumper ,if you use oem parts.
if not oem then you have to buy aftermarket bumper [mashaw
or gettydesign ]
