H&R vs. OEM

Qucik question for those with experience.

I have H&R springs on my 996 and I just ordered the Bilstein sprot shock to go with them.

Should I go with factory GT3 sways or just do the H&R setup. Car my go to the track a few times a year but nothing that serious.

All help is appreciated!

I love the H&R sways, don't buy into all the overstear/understear debate, you can always adjust the shocks if it's that much of an issue. Point is you have thicker and stronger roll bars which add to the stiffness.

love my H&R, but it is not adjustable up front for the c2. C4 has adjustability all around.

Thanks for the responses I think I may just go H&R I dont see the point in full adjustability for what I would use it for.

Do you have the factory sport package (M030) on your car? I ran the stock M030 bar in the front with the GT3 bar in the rear (set to full stiff) when I had H&R springs on my car and it felt really great with that setup. Much more neutral, could rotate the car a little better with the throttle. The car still had it's understeer tendencies but that setup helped alot.

If you go with the H&R's I'd suggest running the rear full stiff since the front is fixed and approx. the same as the GT3 bar in it's stock location (1 from full stiff). My only putoff with the H&R bars is they're solid and heavy vs. the hollow GT3 bars. Solid doesn't equate to being stiffer...just heavier. I couldn't believe how much heavier the front H&R bar was vs. the factory M030 bar that I took off of my car...must have been at least 15 lbs. difference.

15lbs difference?!?!?! Mine are completely stock.

Thats a huge difference! I might need to go with the GT3 ones!

Maybe it's closer to 10lbs...but it's ALOT. Much more than I expected to be honest.

For a street car the 10lbs probably isn't a huge deal...and if you're going to add weight to the car, low and in the front is probably the most acceptable place. Just something to be noted however when comparing the H&R's to the GT3 bars.

Zemdogg-

I have that same exact setup, h&r sport springs and bilstein sport shocks. I have spoke with Damon at the Tire Rack and he said the h&r sways are the perfect compliment.

Exact setup that I am running.

H&R sways were added last and made a huge difference. I set them Med/Med.

Deffinately....but I think the sways gave the most impact.
