As I sit in my yard preparing for my kids birthday party, I forgot some last minute things and run to the store. About 15 min later my wife calls crying on the phone asking if I was OK and she heard the car was totaled ect.ect.. I'm like wtf are you talking about, me and the car are fine. Apparently, some guy in a black 996 with a gt3 tail lost it coming through the s turns 200 ft from my house and pretty much totaled his 996 c2. (I have a black 997 C2S with aerocup kit).Temp plates still on the car from Fl. The driver experienced under-steer,over-steer, then over-correction over-steer 180 degrees in the opposite direction into a tree. It was refreshing to see all my neighbors come by to see if i was OK, and it wasn't even me. The car took the hit square in the door,roof and A-pillar, with minimal intrusion into the cockpit.Very impressed.

looks like that street is a 25mph zone. Looks like he was going much faster the that to do that damage( having too much fun I guess). But anyways hope he is OK.

As others said, the streets, let alone rural neighborhood streets, are not the place for that kind of crap. Hopefully he's okay and comes out of this with a little more respect for the issue.

 

Without the full facts I cant outright say the driver was a total idiot... BUT I am guessing that there was a high possibility the driver was being at least somewhat irresponsible. With power comes responsibility.... drive safe guys.
