Post Your High Mileage Porsche
We have a 99 C2 Tip that we bought with 48k. I used it as a daily driver, and track it often. Now about 3X per month since we joined the Spring Mountain Club. We have put about 30k miles in just over one year. No major issues. Just an expansion tank and heater vave. I maintain it meticulously and change the oil every5k due to track use. Amazing that these cars can be used as a DD, Grand tourer, and track beast! this is our first Pcar and love it. The tip is fine for now since it keeps me from overreving the engine while I learn on the track. We now have 78k and the miles and mounting quickly.
1. Car info (year, model)
- 2002 C2
2. Years of ownership
- I have had it since new
3. Mileage on car
- a daily driver (year round through snow and rain) with 153,000 miles (major issues being a water pump that let go at 94k miles, and new engine at 142k miles)
4. Care/maintenance religious practice
- I used to be very good with the maintenance. But after the new engine and learning a lot about these cars, I realized that it's more likely to have problems for non-maintenance related issues (than issues due to poor maintenance). So I'm not so good with maintenenace anymore.
I don't regret my purchase or the way I drive it (daily driver). People own these cars for different reasons and as long as the owner is happy, who cares? Personally, I'd rather drive it than keep it in the garage or wash it. Now that I think about it, I can't remember the last time I washed it. It may have been over a year ago!

driving my 4s in the rain sucks . heck even in the dry in a turn i can make it squirem and get psm to engage. on wet slick roads, it's physics that take over. people who say it feels rock solid... think about what they're really trying to say or can't say.
my jeep feels rock solid in the rain too. wtf.

What tires? I couldnt get my C4 to spin its tires in the rain if I tried. Only time PSM came on was on an on ramp if I was hauling and the tires got off the ground....My C4 in the rain was pure joy, and yes ROCK SOLID. It was faster in the wet than most cars in the dry.
what bs

agree totally with everything you say but for the part about not washing your car. Gotta keep it clean , bro!
i have an 01 c2 with about 54k mi on it and I love it. Still as good as the first day I laid eyes on it.
However, my daily is a beater Toyota Camry which saves me on gas, insurance and headaches during routine travel. I honestly think the camry is one of the greatest cars ever =), but I'm still enamored by the pcar.
