Which wing? Thouhts please...

Ok, I'm looking at wings and narrowed it down to 2. The 'Techart type III' or the 'Precision Porsche 997 Aero wing for 996'. I've already ruled out Misha, Taco and GT3 MkII (iron board).
My thoughts are the TA III is more subtle and will work with any NB 996 but I love the restyle of the 997GT3, kind of a smaller taco with extended aero down sections at the edges, but it's more of a risk.
This is on a basalt black '02 NB running at RS height, GT3 cup lip and no sideskirts (prefer without). The back end just needs 'something'...

Techart...The precision one doesn't look to fit with the 996

The precision one is designed to fit on any narrow body 996. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/p...4-p-35295.html

i like both, but i prefer the precision one. my hubby, who has a basalt black 996 prefers the techart one. =)

i think if you choose the techart one, it would look good with other body mods (like you mentioned...side skirts....maybe front end) just to balance out the look. just my opinion though. =) both will look great!

i'd pick techart. the 997 one mixed with the 996 just doesn't look right.

but again, you need the front sides as well along with a drop and wheels to make it all look right. else, it's all off kilter. you can do it cheap or do it right, you pick.

It's a hard choice for me... Ben I know what you're saying about 997 on a 996 but then if you take that theory to the extreme you'd only ever put a MkII wing on a facelift. Get what you're saying though.
The TA is definetely the safe bet and although twice as much still within budget and the one I'm feeling more. BUT the 997 keeps catching my eye, it's also very MKI-esq and wouldn't look that out of place. If anyone has done this before and got pictures that would be the biggest help.

you're right. if i had an mk2 narrow, i'd only put on the full mk2 aerokit. there's just nothing else out there that looks good in the aftermarket as the market on the narrowbodies... is not as healthy as for the wides due to the showcase style popularity of the turbo.

my 2cents:
i personally woudn't add a wing out back.
i'm partial to ground effects along the lower body, togetther with a lower ride height and big rims, while keeping the classic teardrop shape up top.

it's why the carrera 4S looks so good. muscular bottom half, with the svelte upper teardrop.
most people would take it further and say the 4S looks better than the turbo thanks to the LACK of rear wing.

ut since you're asking for a wing opinion between the two, i'd try the 997gt3-like wing. that thing is awesome!
the other option you're considering looks too much like the 996 turbo wing. too plain and just doesn't add anything to the car visually.

I think the TA wing looks better on this car My homage to the old school whales. OG Porsche's don't rock tacos or biplane wings

I'd go with the Techart...a 997 wing will look weird on a 996...but then again I picked a Misha wing over this Techart....Misha has much more visual impact...

I appreciate the look of the 'whale' but to me it suits the 993 better, but it does look good on the cabs.
I checked out the Misha but feel it's slightly too big compared to the TA for me. I think I'm going to have to find a supplier with both instock so I can physically judge them.
