Plenum and VF SC work

At least for me. No CEL and good power. If the Plenum is good for 24hp with NA cars and I am boosting to 5-6 psi then I must have gained 80 to 100 hp. Honestly I can tell no differance but at 400+ hp how can you tell? It does look nice. My catch can is a simple tee in the return line that fills with watery oil that would otherwise go into the intake tube. 1999porsche996 just lets his vent to the world, problem being messy oil in the engine bay and drips on the floor. I still had a little oil in the intake pipe near the SC intake but much less. This is the third time I have changed the air filer ( I don't just clean it). Always soak a new filter in soapy water or pre-clean it with the cleaning kit to keep down the oil that can mess with the MAF (have been down that road). I feel like an expert now in filter changing, my advise is to gather up all the hoses and wiring harneses in the way of the filter and MAF intake apparatus with a bungie strap and displace them toward the center of the engine bay and the intake piece slips in easily. Hopefully I'm good for another year. If you are going to race a ZO6 do it on a nice abandoned road in Wy that is straight, dry, and at 165+mph. It worked for me. Will

Actually, I never even have to drain the catch can as I have virtually no liquid blowby. I also do not burn any oil. But, I don't use Mobil Water, either. Is there a specific reason you want to increase your intake temperatures a 15%+ allowing your crankcase cases into the engine?

What are you using for oil then? I had to add a catch can for my SC on the 3.2 box.

Primarily 15W50 in the crankcase. For the oil change in winter months, I often add 1/2 - 1 quart of dyno oil - 10W40.

I only use Mobil 0W40 to keep door hinges from squeaking.

I do not know why the VF Evo SC has that return line, but so does most turbo, sc setups. It may be an enviro thing, to not contaminate the world with our oil blowby. I know there is less if I do not fill my cankcase past middle of the indicator. Wil

I dont think we have a choice but to catch the oil... you dont want that stuff in the intake, with the blower inline, it is more than just venting, oil is getting sucked in... I'd like to see some more catch can setup... like this, though I think its a band aid.

i've read a lot recently about this problem but i'm not really sure what you guys are talking about since i haven't gotten my car back with the supercharger yet

Delius, am i going to have this issue? was this issue resolved with the new v3 supercharger?

regarding the airfilter, i think they are cheap enough (hopefully under $100) to just replace the old airfilter with a new one once a year

If you have a problem with excessive blowby with the SC you had them before the SC. It's just that the oil is going directly into your intake rather than the compressor. Fix your blowby problem and you won't have a problem.
