Leather color code
Leather color code
Hello from Finland! My first post concerns leather care. On saturday I will become a Porsche owner ( model-99 966 Carrera2, 37 tmiles)! The driver´s seat is a bit worn out on the left side side support. I need to find a chemical (leather paint) that will have an exact matching color.
Can someone give me advice how to find the leather color code of my car? Any ideas where to find matching leather paint?
All hints concerning leather seat care are very welcomed. It is my first car with leather seats!

Color is "Graphite Grey"
What you want to do is pull forward on one of the side edges of the center seatback insert and clip off one of the excess pieces of dyed leather. bigger is better. send that to a leather dye specialty shop and have them match it. You have to take into account for fade of color over time. A fresh batch based on your color code might not look the same (ask me how I know!).
you will also need "triclean" leather cleaner to prep the surface. it is best to apply the dye with an airbrush or fine-spray aerosol in several light coats if the area is large. You do not want to see brush strokes.
If the area is small like long thin scatches you can usually use a thin artists brush.
