Painting Brake Calipers?

What are some thoughts on painting the brake calipers red versus the original black?
I have the stuff to do it but I'm concerned that the paint quality will be far less than the original paint.
I bought the Duplicolor kit from my local autoparts store. It's a paint-on ceramic paint. I also picked up some decals and high-temp clear coat.

Have many people done this? Happy with the results?

I was also planning on painting my rotor hats black while I had the wheels off and everything taped off.

i had mine painted several months ago. it was a several step process and he used heat resist. paint. they still look flawless after months of autox, hard driving, etc. i'd do it again in a heart beat. here are mine (photo courtesy of atomic80):

Euclid, there are a bunch of active posts on this subject right now here and on Rennlist. You've obviously researched this at least somewhat because you've bought the stuff required for the job. I haven't heard of anyone having to go back and do it again. I did mine a year ago and they are holding up very well, nice and shiny. If you want perfection though, send them out for powdercoating ($$$).

Yeah I've done a lot of research on it.
Seems like people are pretty happy with the results but I haven't seen any close-up "after" pics like in girlie's post.
I also haven't seen anybody compare the quality to stock. Which kit did you go with? Are you happy?

Thanks!

Euclid,
I have a thread over on Rennlist that shows my experience with Duplicolor ceramic high-temp. paint. I went with yellow calipers and sapphire blue text on my midnight blue C4 cab. What a difference from the stock "titanium" caliper color! I would do it again without question. I have to tell you that a member on Rennlist told me that he used Duplicolor blue on his calipers and then tracked the car. Apparently, the brakes reached a temp greater than 500 degrees F and it turned the paint black. I have had no problem with mine during "normal" street driving. (YMMV) Here are a few of my pictures...

Wow that looks great!
Did you strip your calipers all the way down to the metal or just rough them up?

I used exactly what you bought. I couldn't find my pictures of the job on the rotors, but this was taken about 6 months later when I painted the hats.

I used the brake cleaner included in the kit and a wire brush I picked up at Sears. Mostly, I was trying to rough up the old paint for better adhesion but alot of it came off. Good luck!
