Crazy car, but I'd pick the GTR over the Corvette all day, everyday.

geez a 600+ hp vette that will fetch 117k clams to have....geez I wonder what 1st year depreciation will do for that price tag.....
After 2 years it may be a nice car to go after....hopefully the rattles and tweeks are gone for a used chevy

agreed. the GTR definitely does appeal to a diff segment though and in this way has a bigger wow factor. i'd argue that its assembly process and quality is superior to that of the 997TT.

if i were a younger lad, i'd prob stick with the GTR honestly.

Point taken.

Counterpoint, I'd take the ZR1 over the land yacht GTR any day.

The ZR1 has
- More power
- Way less weight
- Better interior
- Better looks

Have you seen the new leather vette interior? It's a big improvement over the old interior IMHO and the ZR1's is nicer still. I'm not a fan of the see through hood, but I'm sure the aftermarket will come up with a replacement hood soon.

I have not driven either car. But I have seen the new GTR on the road and it's friken huge. It dwarfs a 996 or any other sports car in the market in sheer size.

No question it packs a BIG performance punch, but the size and style leave me ice cold.

I have seen it and it looks like the Godzilla car it is and I like that about it (unique). It has a character.

The Corvette has the American history here in the States, but that's about it for me. I have no attraction to the brand like I do to Porsche (911/CGT), Ferrari (mid-engine V8s), Toyota (SUVs/trucks), Honda (S2000/NSX), etc. I respect its performance, but don't love to identify myself and my wallet with its brand.

i'm sorry guys. i love the GTR (all generations) but for the ZR1 beast and after racing serveral Z06s, imma have to go with the ZR1

i'm sure the ZR1 can take on 90% of the GTRs even with mods

that is ONE SICK F$*#ING CAR

Judging from the impending new laws that will affect American cars, I believe they said that this will be the last ZR-1 built. I'm sure if you keep it in great condition for several, this car will will actually appreciate which is rare/next to impossible to do with modern Japanese cars. That being said, I'd take one to store it, and I'd take the GTR to drive it.

yea guys good luck with the whole collectible story. i'm amazed how some of you guys are great with working/conceptualizing the savings/spending of money yet have a hard time grasping time as a freakin' commodity.

store it? to make money off it and to insinuate somehow this makes the zr1 a better car than the GTR?

zr1 is cool and the gtr is cool. zr1 is fast as hell, but who amongst us can even begin to exploit the limits of these beasts time and talent and hobby $s involved?

if it wasn't so damn ugly. That rear glass window is so Firebird / camero. The rag top is 100x better looking. ZR1 w/ a ragtop would be nice........
