Gemballa Sport Exhaust

Anyone have any first-hand knowledge experience with these (performance - sound)? I can pick-up a new stainless steel set for about $1600 (plus install). Is that a decent deal?

Just curious, where are you buying it from? I've heard the sound is incredible.

I installed the Gemballa Sport Exhaust system on my 996 a few months ago. The sound is awesome - very throaty. The quality is outstanding, too - I'd be proud to display these in my living room.

idle-4k... quiet, 5k-redline, like sex!

as prev mentioned... nothing like it in person, at WOT it sounds very sweet... like a cup car.

I sold it then went with the pse... not as smooth as gemballa. but the pse has a nice bark.

Was your decision based on sound quality or performance? (or both?)

As per your description, IF I was in the market these would have been on my list for sure.
It's the sound level/tone I was targeting

Yeah I agree, in pearson the only way but sound clips and comments serve as a good guide to narrow a search down (like your example shows).

For me it was impossible to be able to hear them live due to both were I live and the number of muffler options to be had

The internet, 6speed and dare I say Rennlist were huge for me

I had the Gemballa exhaust in mine. It is actually made by REMUS. Nice exhaust but the the vaccum that open the valves for better sound at higher speeds stopped working. I ended up getting rid of it and going with the Fab-speed By-pass pipes. Had those in my car for about 2 years. I know bougt the GHL exhaust that I am installing tomorrow!!!
