Here's my run down two months ago for parts from Sunset.

Clutch kit $457
Flywheel $790

Someone mentioned the other day that Suncoast has it all for a lot less these days??? Might be worth a call, and depending on location, maybe cheaper on shipping.

GL!

Hey Sharp, that does not seem to be the case thankfully.....the RPM's flow consistent through the band in third and all the other gears for the most part.

Hey Joey, I have just under 39K miles on the car. Like you said, it has slowly started to get better again, like regenerating itself..........man, I LOVE MY P-CAR, these things are robust!!!!

if you dont have many miles on it, i would wait it out some. you may have just glazed the clutch.

you may still have a lot of life left in the clutch. drive it around some more. it may get better on its own.

Racesx - Thanks for the direction my friend, I've heard nothing but great things about Suncoast, so I'm definitely going to give them a call once I figure out what needs to be done....

Paul - Thanks for the call yesterday dude, I appreciate you helping with the diagnostics man.....

good to hear. yeah wuith 39k you prolly have a decent amount of time left.

me and my friends have autox'ed awd cars for awhile. we have had a fair share of f*cked up hard launches that resulted in no car movement and just smoke.

i can remember a particularly bad one that happened in my awd audi early on when it had less than 20k miles on it. it was a day of at least a dozen hard autox launches. then later that day, same deal on the street going home, almost getting hit accelerating hard and the clutch slips and smokes up. horrible smell and all that.

well, it was not so great for a few days of driving after that (would slip occasionally). but that soon went away and the clutch and flywheel lasted til 80k. considering how much it was thoroughly abused we were very amazed.

that sucks. i did that once and i thought i broke my clutch. good luck with the fix. suncoast will take good care of you.

you should def put in the most updated RMS seal while you're at it. i think it only costs < $50 from suncoast.

Jason - definitely will....and the RMS piece also. Is that something I should just do right now???? Even if the clutch seems to be fine????

I sent a PM to Steve @ Suncoast a few days ago, but he has not replied back yet?

the people are suncoast are pretty busy, it's sometimes hard to even get them on the phone

i would only do the RMS if it's leaking pretty bad (oil spots on the floor) since i've heard that even the updated seals leak a bit

mine is leaking on the floor

boochook, if you want an RMS seal that doesn't leak, do some research into the racing/track RMS seals. Paul at Protomotive is installing that seal for me and he's never had it leak. he even warranties it for 2 years

if you're clutch is fine, i would save your money, no need to repair something that isn't broken

Hey Berk! I haven't forgotten about you, just need to have a couple phone calls returned on one of the parts you requested (it can sometimes be a bit tough to find an aftermarket piece through one of the vendors we work with). Let me know when you're available to chat today, or shoot me a phone call!
