Would like "honest engine" feedback on going to Barrrett Jackson
Keeping in mind that I do not need to sell this car in any way, i am thinking about tweaking the car and doing a bit of refinement to take it through Barrett Jackson's auction. I am blessed with a tremendous amount of business and the revenue from the sale would fund the next toy project without using any assets. I am really interested to try the British Ultima GTR which runs between 90 & 100k depending on your power plant choices.
An anniversary 911 on a salvage title went for over 55k at Barrett. A twin turbo with a mod list that I did not care for went for $85k when the NADA value of the car was just under $60k. With that said, I think mine 9 has this beastly steamroller look thats turn heads every time I dirve it. I personally think it was done really well and one or two wrong decisions could have made it a little blingish.
With the price of the car and around 100k in mods, we all no that there is never going to be a return on those mods unless it is in a paltform like Barrett. I sent in a sellers form and although they are trying to get as many cars in there (afterall it is teir job), I had on associate down there seem to think that it would pull an absolute premium over any Porsche thats been through with the exceptions of the 917/356 stuff they have seen.
What say you "6"'er's....should I ?

Keep in mind the auction guy is trying to get your business. Your car is so unique, it is probably impossible to fairly guage the sales price. You have to find just the right buyer who has the same taste. I guess if you set a high enough reserve, there is nothing to loose...
Let us know if you do it and how it goes.

The bottom fell out of the Classic car/Performance car market about 3 months ago. Only use sales in the last 30 days at Barrett for comparison. If you are looking to get top dollar for your car right now I think you will be disappointed. Auction may still be your best bet for a fast sale. Set a reasonable reserve and take a shot.

Both P-Cars were last year and I do recognize that the market is dramatically different right now. The "typical" muscle or classic are bringing much lower numbers. I have been to Barrett as well and while I was not there for those two auctions, I do know that they have been through and actually had one of them on the DVR for quite a while. You can hit this link. But you will ahve to search each auction to find it.
I now agree with you Redridge:
I spoke with a couple of people in Florida yesterday to include some of the Salesguys and Suncoast and they said the market down there is horrible at the moment. I guess the market here in Dallas is supposedly the best in the country right now so I am going to hang on to her and keep driving the wheels off it.

I live in the Dallas area and it seems that the market is still good for the p-cars. I just bought my car at Christmas but had two good cars sell out from underneath me in late November and early December
