What audio NAV system

I am interested in updating the original radio CD player with a new head unit Nav Ipod etc in my 03 c2. There is a thread regarding a Kenwood system. What other systems has anyone used? pros or cons?
What about this talk about fiber optics? Is this something I have to deal with in my retro fit. For the time being I want to retain the original amp and speakers.
Please help

Another Don is on a distinguished road
I went with the Pioneer F900BT. Gave me NAV, Bluetooth, USB connection and I added an XM radio module. As I understand the installation, the fibre-optic cabling went away, as well as the Bose amp. The speakers, on the other hand, work just fine.

I went with Alpines IVA-W505 with the Alpine Blackbird PMD-B200 NAV unit. I have always used Alpine products because I sell them and love them.

I think any conversion becomes more complicated for cars made after 8/02 with the MOST bus system. Check out this guy - long ways from Houston but he says he'll answer questions. Good luck

I have an 03' too with the Bose system and factory sub. I recently upgraded the head unit, added a bigger sub and amp to power it, and kept everything else- I'm pretty happy with the sound. The guys that did my install did not mention once issues but then again I don't know if I had/have the fiber optics. Here's the thread I posted last month.
