That is a great protocol to follow before every DE event. Check the car thoroughly from top to bottom. Get a wrench and go over every nut and bolt. It is better to spend some time looking over your car in the garage that seeing it everday in pieces.
I also would also recommend a post DE event inspection. I have found a small crack on my A-arm which was not there before the event. Take a moment to inspect your car pre/post any DE events.
