What was I thinking?

Four bolts, thirty minutes turned into 3 hours swapping on my by-pass pipes. I had to cut off three of the four fasteners. The best part you ask? I hate them, what made me pull off my Fabspeed exhaust. I need to round up some more hardware and swap back on my exhaust. Going to have a little trial period to see if they grow on me, but I doubt it. Just sounds like a Honda Civic with one of those fat *** mufflers. They sounded great in all the internet videos I have watched. Pretty sure the swap back on will be much quicker.

Feel free to kick me when I'm down, I deserve it.....

damn i was actually considering the bypass pipes. I had straight pipes on my 300zx tt a few years back, but i guess the turbo back pressure etc. made them sound sooooo good. i hear on a NA engine they just drone and hum constantly and kill your low end. I guess i'll have to prepare to part with $1000 on a good sounding exhaust.... fab's seem like the way to go according to this forum.

Cool Muffler Delete Pipes

I still don't see why they are called Muffler Bypass Pipes.

They aren't bypassing....they are deleteing the mufflers.

My car had them on it when I bought it.......but I agree, they are just too loud and obnoxious for me.

I love my Afterhours Sport Exhaust!

Yes, that's exactly what they sound like, a car with no mufflers. If there was something between the fabspeed and bypass pipes I would be happy.

If I can get my wife to shoot a little drive by video I'll put it up tonight. Maybe it sounds better outside the car.

Cool

That is exactly where the Afterhours Sport Exhaust falls.

Im starting to have second thoughts about my fabspeeds. The drone at 2k rpm on my tip is getting old fast. Probably not an issue if you have a manual. The lack of support and the disinterested, rude emails from fabspeed are not helping as well...

Here's a comparison video of our muffler bypass pipes vs. Maxflo mufflers. In both videos the 997 S had our X-Pipe sportcat's installed as well.

I was at a family cookout last night and took a few family members for a ride. Everyone at the party said how great the car sounded going down the road. Believe me, if they thought it sounded bad they would not of held back. Just figured I'd post an interesting update.

after several beers anything sounds good - sound in the car to you will always be the sound you listen too.....to heck with what it sounds like outside the car....
I think you would be happy with the Gen2 AH Exhaust. more aggressive than Fabspeed but not obnoxious like Bypass pipes

Yes! That's what I'm looking for in an exhaust. I just watched the videos, perfect.

What will a used Fabspeed exhaust bring? 5k miles or so on it, at least four years old.
I'm not trying to sell it in this thread, not even sure I want to, just curious.
