Any opinions on a MKII Aero kit on a 1999

I found this at Precision Porsche - as I am more fond of the later MKII Aero kit vs MKI for 1999s(not feeling the Taco Wing). Unfortunately the Porsche OEM MKII kit only fits 2001's and up

http://www.precisionporsche.com/996GT3YELLDF.jpg

the front bumper and rear spoiler are fiberglas and the side skirts are urethane

Cost 2100.00

Anyone have any experience with Precision and quality of components?

Your example is not a 99 996. BTW, the side skirts are pretty cheap as OEM and those will fit on the 99 - I have them - call sunset in Washington or Brandywine in PA. I got mine on sale once for 399 or 499 as I recall. Let me know of your experience with the fiberglass. In my case, I don't think I'd ever put regular fiberglass on my car again. I am not sure of the plastic embedded stuff as I hear that is better. G/L though. Keep an eye for urethane GT3 MKII if it even exists. ???

yea this is the pic from the supplier go figure,
I am not jazzed about a 100% fiberglass front bumper as I would prefer it to be more flexible like OEM material. I think I just want the look of a MKII Aero kit on my 1999 and I do not see any other options (especially the front and rear spoiler)

I know how you feel. I don't know why there aren't more polyurethane offerings instead of fiberglass. I mean a mold is a mold is a mold. Right. The poly might need a mating part which might explain the difference but it takes just one guy to do that and then everyone will buy from him!!

The important thing is maintaining consistent lines. The MKI is softer than the II. If you can get the MKII style front bumper that will fit your MKI car it should look fine with the other MKII parts. The lines on the bumpers are quite different.

"In the near future"??? How long does it take? I mean, the demand is present right now from what I have seen.

you can buy a "lip" for the 99 car that will give you the proper line when installed with MKII bumpers... they have talked about it on the forums somewhere...
