996 Exhaust Upgrade

I want to open up the muffler system to sound more like an 993 version. Quality and sound would be my priorities. Any help on brand would be great.

I don't know about sounding like a 993, but I love the set of Cargraphic mufflers on my 996. Sound is awesome... and something just feels right about having German aftermarket mufflers on the pcar.

I love my Afterhours Exhaust, nice controlled growl when accelerating and a nice low rumble at idle. I'm up in North OC but would be willing to meet up if you're interested in hearing it. Good luck with whatever you decide.

i too have cargraphic exhaust and it does sound closest to the 993 type sound , the raspy but throaty and choppy flat 6 sound.

I like Tubi

I have had Tubi mufflers on my 2000 996 for a few weeks now. Not too loud at idle but healthy crisp tone when accelerating. Take your time when making the decision and make sure you hear before you buy. Good luck.

i've always been interested in the tubi exhaust, but want to hear the comparison vs what I have. Do you have any sound clips for them?

i've seen the afterhours exhaust on the web, and it sounds really good, only thing is that i am curious to know what glasspack mufflers they're using making me question the longevity and flow of the combo whether they have any loss in backpressure due to straighflow design like a straightpipe. i would prefer to put Borla Xr1 mufflers with their design if I went this route. If they gave that option I would consider.

The construction and finish look good in addition to the weight savings.

Well, I think the best way for you to find an exhaust to your liking is simply go on youtube or the like, type in exhaust brands that are designed for your car, and have a listen!

Now, if you are after our opinion and what I think is one of best manufacturer period for exhausts...have a look at Kreisiegg. They even have an electronic switch to change the ferocity of the sound!

Here is a few clips with a pre 2002 Carrera (automatic...blah):

But here is what it sounds on a GT3 (so expect something similar if you have a manual)

I will be doing a group buy for those that are interested, and I can get about 10% discount. If there is interest, I will get a further discount....let me know guys!

That is weird I was just about to post I have Fabspeed on my C4S and have zero drone! It is a great compromise of quiet highway cruising and when you open it up it really barks.

This capristo exhaust sounds pretty good. The guy has some kahunas blasting through a tight neighborhood like that though
