Brakes problem please help scary!!!

please help me, when braking hard on a bumpy road, as i put my foot hard on the brakes i seem to get a very good bite, then as my foot is on the pedal braking if i hit a pothole bump etc the pedal goes in a fraction and it feels as if my brakes have slighty let off, this has only happened twice as it has to be a bumpy road or pot hole, my suspension is coilovers and they are very hard as set up for track could this be problem? i own a go karting circuit here in the uk and i have felt simlair on a kart when a axle had moved pushing th piston back in a fraction, the first time u press brake feels like its push it back to normal postion and then if u let off and press again it bites, its almost as if as i hit a hard bump the suspension is so hard it jults the piston back a fraction to create a feeling in the pedal that its now not breaking as well?

this is really hard to exsplain and i really hope somone can help as this happend the other day and i shi* myself scared, as i was braking for a corner i hit a bump it felt like brakes had gone for a 0. second so i released and put my foot back on when they worked pefect????

please some one can help me ????????????????????

If it's only for a fraction of a second, that sounds like your ABS kicking in, which is perfectly normal.

- You're on the brakes
- Your wheel hits a pothole or bump, losing traction
- With no resistance to keep the wheel turning, the braking force will lock-up the wheel.
- The ABS senses the lockup and will immediately let off the brakes for a moment then reapply them.

Next time this happens, try keeping your foot down (that's the best technique for ABS). If the brakes come back right away, it's fine.

Yup, ABS kicking, get it all the time since I fitted KW-V3s. The harder suspension means the wheels lock quicker when hitting bumps hence you feeling the ABS more...

Know what you mean. Was happening a lot. Had 2 offs at the track because of it. Pulled the ABS fuse and life was a bit better, but only a bit. Don't do that of course, but had to see if it was the ABS. Heavy braking and either bumps or a slick surface cause the ABS to partially release the brakes. They don't come back. Have to release the pedal and re-apply quickly. Don't know of a reasonable fix other than don't do that. Pinged quite a few folks w/ no real good answer or solution other than racing ABS. GL.
