bank 1 bank 2 which side is it? please help
having problems with my o2 sensors and i need to work out which is bank 1 and bank 2 i take it sensor 1 is before cat and sensor 2 is the cat sensor?
if your looking at the back of the car what side of the engine is bank1 one and bank 2?

so if your standing at the back of the car the left hand side of the engine is bank 1 and right hand side is bank 2? i am in uk so i take it drivers side bank 2 pasenger bank 1?

Whoops, sorry about that, did not notice that you were from the UK. Standing at the back the left hand side is bank 1 and the right hand side is bank 2. So for you Brits bank 1 is the passenter side.

If its a rear engine, DS is bank one and front engine, like a Cayenne, DS is bank 2. Right?

This is why cars should use "port" and "starboard" to designate sides. Planes and boats already do.

Seriously, most manufacturers use "RIGHT" and "LEFT" from the driver's perspective.

Or maybe we should adopt the same terminology the theater people use such as "stage left" and "stage right" (from the POV of the audience). We should say "driver left" and "driver right" which is from the point-of-view of the driver as opposed to the technician's.

Actually, "Stage Left" or "Stage Right" in theatrical terms is from the perspective of the performers. You mean "House Left" or "House Right".

hahaha... I'm afraid that would still be confusing. Many mechanics don't know their left from their right.
