Window getting stuck
Window getting stuck
I have a 99 996, recently when I open the drivers side door from the inside the window seems out of alignment and is getting a job on the back window. When I open the same door from the outside it has no problems. Has anyone encountered this problem?
You probably need a new window regulator unless the clamp fasteners have loosened up. Either way, door panel needs to come off to inspect. May be nothing more than a minor adjustment and retorque clamps. If you get it off PM me and i'll walk you through what to check.
ditto.
just had mine in to dealer for third fix the same exact thing. regulators were replaced prior to the problem. they would work for a while, then come out of alignment and get "stuck" on the rear window.
the tech this last time promised a permanant fix. he explained it like this:
the window sits in a plastic cup which hugs both the inside and outside of the window and compresses to hold it in place. there is a rubber piece which lies between the "cup" and glass. my rubber piece had slipped and was only on one side of the cup which allowed for movement over time. the tech moved the rubber back into place and tightened again promising a permanent fix.
if you haven't had your regulator(s) replaced, that might be the problem and pricey to fix. if you have had them done, the above could be the problem and should be fixed under warranty of the regular replacement job and or cpo. (luckily all three of my fixes were covered and i didn't have to call germany on they a$$)
