You live in Maryland, do you want an all season or a summer tire? Michelin PS2 are great tires but are not suitable for winter snow and/or freezing conditions and are a litlle pricey. I live in So Cal and they are great year around.

+1 on the Sumi's, have had them for 1,000 miles with good performance on street, I do not do track though. PS - half the price of others, enables me to change them out twice as often if they don't last as long, and have new tires more often.

I have a set of Nexen N3000 tires on my 18's that have been good. On my 17's I have Kumho SPT's on the front and BFG g-Force Sports on the rear. I have been going through 2+ sets of tires on the rear to every one set on the front. I had my alignment adjusted last summer and so far the rears still have some tread left. I by replacing my tires often I have a good relationship with my local Discount Tires. They have been taking good care of my cars.

New Tires Suggestion

I just moved to the east coast (Northern VA) from LA. I originally had Michelin PS2, but considering that they are summer performance tires, I had them replace to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus XL. They are rated #1 on Tirerack for all-seasons performance tires. #2 was Goodyear, but I stuck with Michelin. I ended up paying about $1200 for everything to include alignment/balance.

Here are my tire sizes:
F: 225/40ZR-18
R: 285/30ZR-18

A lot of the local tire shop like Just Tires, Mr. Tire, and Merchants does price matching. Just tell them you got a quote from Tirerack, and have them match it.

Let me know what you decide to get.

I've put on about 200 miles on them now, and they feel great! Especially with the winter storm we just had here!

Can I ask you a question:

How come you went with the "Pilot Sport A/S Plus" versus the " Pilot Sport" .

Thanx

Bridgestone Potenza ...305/30/19....amazing on the turns..just enough grip to let you slide a little and enjoy the turn. But dont get these if you want to drive in hard rain or even very cold weather.

I bought the A/S plus because I wanted all season tires. Pilot Sport and Pilot Sport PS2's are summer performance tires. Lot of snow and rain in the east coast. I had PS2s when I was in LA before I moved out to Virginia.

I've got about 7,000 miles on my Sumitomo HRT ZIIIs and I am very pleased with them. The dropoff in performance on the street compared to my OEM Pirelli P-Zeros isn't too noticable, if at all. I've never had them on the track. Keep in mind, they are also a summer only tire. Mine are currently in the storage rack and the Blizzaks are on.

I have Hankook Ventus Evo12. Check out the Car and Driver max performance tire review. Scored high! They are a great tire and a great value.
