Question Anybody have H&R coilovers? Impressions?

Very tempting prices on these. How's the ride quality? Is the suspension tunable? How do they compare to the PSS9's or KW Coilovers?

Not sure if you can find someone with experience on all......I've been in cars with PSS9's and have H&R coil-overs on both the 993 & 996Turbo (just H&R springs on the C4).
H&R coilovers are generally a good product.....definately stiffer than OE............about right for me, too stiff for some however they really are only a 'sport' suspension component (monoballs definately stiffer).
Work in great combo with good adjustable anti-sway bars (& probably adjustable DLs)........ and yes whole system can be tuned, height adjusted, & corner balanced, to your hearts content (or until it drives you nuts).

Had them on my 2003 and they are really nice, suggest the sways as well, use the street version as they also make a track setup. PSS9 is very nice as well, I choose H&R AS THEY ARE THE oem FOR THE gt2/3.

i heard that the coilover sag after a awhile...

h&r springs in general have a reputation for sagging after a while..

The metal in the springs "set" over time. This is not uncommon in most springs. Remember spring steel is just regular steel alloy that has been hardened at a different temp. With coilovers, you can compensate for this by readjusting after the first year.

I have had the H&R coil overs for awhile now and have no problems with them. Ride feels much more compliant than stock with out the sway. Also using the GT3 sways with the TRG drop links. Nice set up for canyon and track with out going too overboard.

No sagging issues whatso ever. Maybe a slight settling, like all springs but nothing major or noticeable.

The Pss9's have better adjustability and definately have an edge on the H&R's

Really.
If you want to go low.....GT2 or
Turbo Euro(X73) ride height? (where I am w/H&Rs)
.......may want to read Ken's thread from earlier this year.

Ive got em on my 03 coupe, and had NO problems otherwise. I did 'slightly' re-adjust for the spring settling, but very little had to be compensated for.

Hated the H&Rs. They clanked bad from 20 to 30 mph and under over bumps (a very common complaint I later learned) and you can't set anything except for the height. The ride was also fairly harsh. I was much much happier with the PSS9s on the 3 to 4 settings. BTW, I was using GT3 adjustable sway bars on both.

I guess that's a good point on PSS9s is you want to be able to change your ride. I did not.
I'm on my second set of H&Rs for 993, knew they were what I wanted for Turbo.......& this past summer upgraded fronts to new style.
For me, in 10 yrs they've always been quiet.

I have the H&R coilovers and I don't get any noise from them. I do get a lot of clunking, rattling, and squeaking from the TRG droplinks though. The ball joints wear out really quickly and start to rattle.
