Heading out to the west coast again, but

no time for Sushi, I be in San Francisco at a meeting with little free time. Any recomendations for a good steak place in the city near the embarcadero.

Thanks,
Corey

If your're going to be near SBC Park (formerly known as Pac Bell Park) on the Embarcadero, go to Acme Chophouse. It's right in the corner of the ballpark, and it has outstanding steaks.

House of prime rib:
1906 Van Ness Ave
San Francisco, CA
it's not close to where you are but worth the travel.

House of Prime Rib used to be great. The Prime Rib is still great, but the Clientele isn't the best. I'd go to Harris' down the block instead. But that's just IMO.

What are you, Kirb? Anti social? Snob?

Corey, definitely take a taxi to HOPR and indulge. 10min ride. Forget the clientele. It's you and the meat that matters. If the timing is right, I may even see you there

I'm a frequent flier to SF from the OC. You will not be disappointed with the House of Prime Rib. It's made to your liking no matter how prefer and it just keeps on coming. Two thumbs up IMO.

You will get a great steak at any of the places mentioned (can't comment on Houston's - haven't tried it). Collin and Kirby -- just curious -- have you guys tried Acme? It really is excellent.

Another recommendation, if you find yourself bar-hopping in the Marina/Union Street area: Izzy's Steakhouse on Steiner between Chestnut and Lombard.

No we haven't. Are you going to take us there?

Corey, after the meat, you may want some good coffee and dessert. Save it for "Steps of Rome" in North Beach before heading back to the hotel. Best Tiramisu made fresh on the premise. Best crazy italian atmosphere. If you're a good looking chick, the waiter will dance with u on the floor.

Thanks guys... I just checked into my hotel and I will try to figure out where I'm going tomorrow...

Cheers,
Corey

P.S. Next time I'll try to get some additional time to go out with everyone, but I just got back from Holiday at Disney World and need to spend more time in my own bed.
