winter rims for C4s

quick question for everyone. running the same size rim on all corners of a c4s (18x8 for example) for winter driving, would this damage the differential on an AWD car or is it perfectly safe?

TIA

you should have 8" front and 10" rear with 225/265 winter tires combo.

thanks for the quick reply Ray.

The reason I'm asking is because I'm looking to purchase a C4s from a dealer and noticed that the winter rims on the car right now are very narrow in the rear (probably the same width as the front). So do you think any damage has been done to the drivetrain as a result?

Probably a dumb question but I'm new to this.

TIA

Check the tire size....it's not the rims size that'll do the damage...as long as the tire size within spec no damage should have been done

The width does not make a difference. In fact most winter wheel/tire packages include rear wheels with a narrower width. It is easier to find tires for the more narrow width and they will perform in the snow better. The wheels have to rotate at the same rate or you will have a problem. I ran blizzaks on my stock wheels. It was nerve racking because no vendors could tell me the right size. I figured it out. Worked great, the car is awesome in poor weather.
