Installed Shocks car still makes NOISE!

What am I missing? Do I need to change the struct mounts? The noise seems to come from there on both sides... HELP!!

If you live where they use salt there is a bearing (race) that is between the spring mount and the body mount is the problem. There is no way to service the race without disassembly and replacement. Count on a full reallignment front as well.

Although I live in Texas, we did have a crap load of snow!

Is that separate from the strut mounts? Do I look for a race bearing?

Thanks

Like a spring mattress in the front. I had the car up in the air and pin pointed it to the top of the strut. Mechanic assumption is that its the strut mount because the spring is not secure. Any ideas?

I had some noise somewhat similar to what you are describing, it turned out to be the top spring coil rubbing on itself. Ended up wrapping the spring with a thin plastic and that fixed it. Not saying this is your issue but it is worth a look.

There is an interesting article in this month's Total 911 magazine on noise in 996 suspensions. Shows how to replace most of the bushings. Might be an interesting read for you.

Thanks! Now after putting on chassis ears, it been determined that its the BALL JOINTS, the shop lubricated them and the noise stopped.

My issue is car only has 42,000 miles on it, Does that make sense?
