Any hardtop owners have squeeks and rattles? I seem to have them more or less from the rear drivers side. Is there a way to latch it tighter, or maybe is it too tight? Any ideas?

 

I brought my 02 Carrera Cab to the dealer with the same complaint, so they changed out the rear post/latches and upgraded them to the newer model. This is what I was told by the dealer. Since then, no such problem anymore.

10000 miles and squeeks galore... good luck remedying it. I have a stiff suspension, 19" wheels, and low profile tires and it is inevitable.

 

I had to install new latches and locks on my used hardtop for a new '04 C4S cab, so I've learned all about every little working part. I have zero rattles or squeaks. (BTW, there is a TSB on renntech.org if you join describing much of this.)
Here are my suggestions:
1. Unlock the rear hardtop locks, and adjust the height adjustment nuts (22mm I think) up or down a turn or two--then lock and test. Make sure both sides are even.
2. This will take more work: remove the side trime pieces running along the rear window, and replace the snaps (if they are metal) with the new plastic ones; at the same time get some Porsche felt tape and attach along the edge where the trim meets the sides.
3. If your car is '01 or older, replace the locks with the newer version which has teflon coated parts--easy swap but not cheap.
4. If there are squeaks, apply silicone (like kryox) along the rubber seals along windshield and rear.
This should definitely work.
