Supercharger Carrera VS Stock Turbo (which to go with?)

So I have been looking at getting a p car and can't seem to make up my mind. Should i get a carrera and supercharge it with the money I would save instead of buying a turbo? Or should I just but a Turbo and not have any money left over to mod it?

If you buy a 996 for 25k and dump 15k into a full supercharger / turbo kit you will not have NEARLY as much car as a 996tt stock at 40k.

Just because both would be forced induction, doesn't make them comparable. Porsche spends millions and millions in R/D to make the turbo, not just add parts to lower models.

Think about the wide body, dry sump engine, much more power, downforce, bigger brakes, better sound, better front end, better cooling system, ect.

I say get a C4S and super charge that. You'd have a better looking ride that would have more than enough power for the street.

Get the turbo. Better engine, more reliable (No problems with the RMS) and better looking. Also, don't forget that down the road, you'll never recoup the investment into a S/C compared to reselling the Turbo. Either way, enjoy the soon-to-be-yours P-Car!

To each their own...

Have fun with the RMS on the supercharged (ie. more stress and wear) engine...

Not all the cars have that problem Plus its not that big deal to change RMS. Okay Turbo maybe more reliable. But More Fun to have sleeper Than turbo .

I'm aware that not all have that problem, however it's still about $2000 to fix it (unless you find some cheap labor), in the event that it should happen. And considering you need to drop the tranny just to inspect it, there is no telling if and when it may go.

That being said, I'm all for a sleeper, but then again if someone is considering a Turbo, chances are they probably aren't trying to "fly under the radar"
