Just wanna see if anyone have aftermarket wing or spoiler without fan installed.

 

I wouldn't recomend that, I have an aftermarket wing and still have my fan.

 

Its not recommended.

 

i split the fan cables (alone) and cut the others (pop up oem wing) , works fine for me

 

My car has a Gemballa wing and no fan. The car was previously owned by Todd Zuccone, the president of EVOMS -- http://evoms.com

I trust its okay to run without a fan, but I may call over there to get his/their opinion. Sure would help extract hot air created by the engine. Oh, and also, the wing doesn't have any rubber molding for forcing cold air into the EVOM cold air intake. That's always bothered me. What kind of wing do you have?

 

i got gemballa wing.I just instaled that fan yesterday.3 screws and that's it.

what if the spoiler has no vents, i am looking at an aftermarket spoiler/trunk lid. it has no vents for the fan, is this ok

i think you have to have that fan because if you stuck in trafic in summer for example and car does not have air coming fan get on and cooloing the engine.

 

does the fan automatically come on when u start your car, or does it come on at a certain temperature? i just had gt2 spoiler installed and i checked when i started the car, but is was not running? does it take a while for it to come on, its a 2002 996

 

it takes go on 190 degree i think..it will not come automaticaly

 

I agree, I need to add a fan. I received a reply from EVOMs:
"...purchased the wing from Gemballa they told him that the fan was not a necessity but he thought there was a provision for a fan if someone wanted to retrofit the wing with one..."

I'm going to ask if they have a spare lying around that I can use.

Interesting that in your photo, the fan is to the right of where the stock fan is usually mounted. By your sig, you have a stock air box, correct? Here's a photo of mine. The wings appear to be very similiar.
