Need Help Strange Happening

Problem: When making a sharp or semi sharp turn (Ie. Fwy off ramp) my car feels like it's down shifting, but I'm not. Only happens when I make these turns, but it concerns me greatly. Driving straight it's fine. I did recently get 2 new tires for the rear though. Not sure if that matters. I do need an alignment which is going to happen this week. Any help would be appreciated before I take my ride in. Thanks again..

Not enough info to be of much help.

6spd manual or auto?

If manual, could it be the clutch slipping?

Any chance you are braking with your left foot while applying throttle? If so the engine will cut power and can feel like it's downshifting. Just a thought...

Exactly the same thing happen to mine it is the new rear tires. As soon as I put a few 100 miles on them it stopped. The dealer told me it was common when replacing rear tires only. Don't sweat it but be carefull for a little while.

Car is back to normal. The rear tire(s) pressure was set to high. Made the car handle terrible and set off the traction system.(My conclusion) Thanks for all the help..

so what were they at?

So what were they originally set at to cause the issue, and what did you set them to in order to get around the issue?

i'm slappin in new tires and will just use factory recommended settings and want to know in case i have this issue.

Thanks, dave

Dave,
The factory manual said 45 Cold PSI which for my C4S appears to be too much....Car felt unstable and didn't handle well. Ended up lowering the psi to 35 in the rear..The fronts are set for 30. Everything now is working fine. Never thought the traction control system was so touchy. I might have to go lower cause today I took an off ramp kind of fast and I did feel the problem again, but very faint. Hope that helps..
