New exhaust

I have 2005 996 With 14K miles on it that I got about 2 weeks ago. As I am learning about it I noticed that the mufflers and exhaust Pipes are rust color. The car has a oem sport exhaust that changes the sound at the touch of a botton. I want to know should I leave it or are there upgrades that I can look at. I like the touch button option, but I also would like to start upgrading the performance of the beauty

Thumbs up

Congrats on the new P Car!

Most Porsche people agree that the OEM PSE is about as good as it gets sound wise.

You won't really pick up much performance by changing it.

I think I'd leave it alone and look at some other mods.

A lot of 996 owners pay to get a PSE upgrade. You already have it. No need for an aftermarket exhaust that may introduce annoying drone & provide insignificant gains at most.

Stay with what you have the REAL PSE exhaust is one of the best original mods by Porsche. Look into an underdrive pulley set, cats, race flywheel etc.
Congrats on the new 996

that's insane coming from the "stealer"...just go with the cheaper version "pse hack" w/out the switch.

The PSE is amazing! Today was the first real day over 80 in Seattle, the exhaust was music on the drive. I will look into the other upgrades, does anyone have a supercharger installed on their C4S?

That is insane. Better shop around for a used set. I got my PSEs for only 12% of that cost.
