Need to drop weight for the track!

I weighed my C4S with me in it and 1/4 tank of fuel - - 3,580 pounds.
I need to put it on a diet for TT next year and really need some creative ideas.

Challenge: I do not want to go for the obvious first since the car is still a daily driver and I want to keep it that way for a couple more years. Can I remove the A/C? Sure. But I like it in the summer.
So the challenge is to remove things (Lighten things up) without sacraficing too much yet in daily drivability.

Can you offer up ideas?? THANKS SO MUCH.

Rennline has a nice lightweight battery holder. Do that with a lightweight battery and save a little there. I hear lighter wheels make a huge difference as well.

Cool

Here's a start....

Some good aftermarket seats. The stock ones are very heavy.

Remove rear seats, sub-woofer. Rebove spare.

Lightweight exhaust.

Muffler bypass will save a good amount of weight that hangs behind the rear axle.

wow I didnt know the C4 were so much more - guess all the drive gear adds up. My C2 with me and a half tank weighs in at just over 3100.

I agree with the above - seats, exhaust/removing cats, remove rear seats/sub, spare, etc

delete cats and mufflers, run bypass pipes for both... ~70lbs weight savings. Just to warn you, it'll be loud.

Aftermarket brake rotors with aluminum hats save a little.
Rear seats are worth almost 15 lbs.
Then it gets tough... YOU have to go on a diet...

*sigh* Not the best platform for weight savings I suppose.

As others mentioned, you can swap seats to Euro GT3, huge savings. Wheels, rotors, and mufflers next. Rear seats and carpet. Sunroof. Stuff in the trunk. And thats about it without going extreme.

Overall, you might get 150lbs or so out without going crazy. Your 3600 lb piggy will shrink to a slim 3450

FWIW, my car weights 3050 with 1/2 tank of gas...

Nice to know i am not too far off from a GT3 at 3100 lbs at 1/2 tank

Another area - but not sure what your going for. On old track cars of mine ripping out all the sound deading padding, etc save a ton of weight - then you got door skins, etc. Just not sure if this is a daily driver as it starts to get real noisy inside without that stuff.
