Blue dash light upgrade

I have been looking through all the post that include dash lights and I can not locate any supporting info on how or who to reach out for converting all my interior lights to blue. This would include the door light that shines on the key slot, full gauges, center console, ac sun roof lights, and all map/door lights to a blue led lights.

Does anyone have any ideas, links, photos, tips, or info? I want to have this for a winter project.

This is for a 2005 996 C4S 15,000 miles!

I'm jealous, I don't have any light shining on my key slot!

Dharn 55, that has to be the only thing not on your car. From what I have seen on your posts, I have decided I want to buy, any Porsche you would sell. Yours are far better than what any dealer delivers when new!!!

I'm not sure about the gauges but the interior lights can be convered to blue led. I've got blue led's on both door lights and the 3 map lights. You can switch those out easily.

I got them from superbrightleds

1 4410x9 festoon bulb blue 4410-b9 2.25 for center map
4 wledx6 cool white wled-cw6 0.95 2 for parking light/2 for front side marker
4 wledx6 blue wled-b6 0.75 2 for the doors and 2 for the driver/passenger map light
2 3610-x4 festoon bulb cool white 3610-cw4 0.95 for license plate

I just dug up the receipts and copied them. You can go to their website for any other led place and they should be the same/similar. I included the license plate, parking light, and front corner light numbers also.

Blue Leds

I don't recommend blue leds...I have them in my gauges and all and kinda hate it to be quite honest. They appear to be really bright but blue is one of those colors that seems to be absorb into the surfaces and not turn out that bright after all. Part of it is retrofitting it into materials that aren't designed to enhance the use of leds. If I had to do a swap out again, I would go with the super bright whites instead.

My interior is black on black, arctic silver exterior paint. I was thinking red led after reading everyones opinion and going with new red seat belts, as I have big reds for the brakes.

I'd stay with white, works with all
colors, easier than red on eyes too. porscheleds.com

I have them installed great improvment over stock. Piece of cake to install.

I do agree with white works well but I don't agree on easy on the eyes, and I'm sure most pilots would also agree. They have red lit instruments on planes for a reason.

+1. red light has minimal effect on the eyes during night time flying.

My '98 Audi A4 had all red int lights stock. I was always a big fan. I'd love to see anyones pics if they have done red in a 996.
