What do you guys get for beater cars?

hey I was just wondering what you guys get for beater cars, that is something big enough to: take groceries, a long trip, maybe comfort, fit more girls, low depreciation, park it with no issues, maybe fit your luggage when you are going to airportl, but yet still look nice.

Here's my current situation. Go to College in boston, live in Miami, snow issue(although I dont really care about snow handling as I like to drift on curves, if it has enough grip to move thats good).
I just got Cayenne this summer for Miami(I needed a good car that i can tow a boat or jet ski which i will be getting soon, yet fit girls to go out, and my mom can take out and enjoy when she visits). After summer for Boston I was looking at cars with my brother we looked at 355, Esprit, and 911. Originally we were going for esprit 01-02 or DB7 98-00,355 97-98 but after many rides settled down for 01 c4 (awd, porsche certified warranty w.5 years 100k miles) and a 2 months later looks hotter than all the other options with the mods it has now plus porsche reliability and a warranty. So now I am driving an old car my bro had in college when weather is bad because after all the mods hope to keep 911 for a long time.
I am looking now at bang for your buck and good resale value oh and that it looks nice as a beater car. I have narrowed choices down to the good deals that I have seen this week. I have been offered an 01 Red M3 Conv with 48k miles with BMW Certified warrantyu for an additional two years for 35,000 list, But I think it would go for 33thousand. I have also looked at some select edition certified warranty 6 yrs 100k miles Jag S-type. I have seen some Jags with about 40-55k with warranty for way under 20thousand. As I know the Jag S-type is ****box lincoln LS with a Body kit and jag badges but I dig looks and especially price. The trade in currently on these is about 13k vs 31k for M3;. if I am looking to exhaust warranty and then either keep or get rid off at the end of warranty what do you think is a better deal. What do you think trade in would be on an M3 in 2-3 years with 65k miles?
Maybe at the end of the day the Jag would end up being more expensive.

My preditions: will buy jag with warranty for 17, sell in 2-3 years for 9thousand and lose 8k VS buy M3 for 33 sell in 2.5 years for 26 thousand. Seems like at the end of the day i would get the M3 for the same money. What do you guys think, as well as any other cars I should consider. Thanks I really apreciate your help/thoughts

I'll suggest the B6 S4. How could you go wrong with a V8 and AWD?

'94 AMG E-60,

Bullet-proof olde world Mercedes reliability, BHP381 of "right here right now power", few people think much of it, looks like a glorified taxi so it disappears in traffic, plus, it has some Porsche genes.
