What I paid for my Pcar....

For me, shopping and pricing after purchase is the ideal way to suffer. God knows I have done this a lot in my life. Since you asked. I Paid 22K after negotiating down from asking price of $23800 JAN. 2011. 2003 C2/76k great options: side skirts, Bose, PSM, sport suspension. SS door sills, 18" sport wheels. PPI indicated an oil leak at oil pump. This was the negotiating point. Anyway, turns out, no leak. not even a weap, just slightly damp if at all. I had to pay $800 shipping. PPI did not tell me about broken turn signal indicator. I also replaced the battery and now the starter is being replaced. Car looks pristine. I'm happy. I'll be getting the IMS detection device when released next month from Flat6 Innovations for peace of mind. I'm satisfied with my purchase provided I don't over think.

I picked up a 99' C2 cabriolet (black on black, 6 speed) with 58,000 miles for $22,500. It is in absolutely perfect condition. Anytime the car wasn't being driven, it was garaged with a cover on it. The day I drove the car home it was raining and the guy I bought the car from said, "this is the first time this car has ever seen rain."
He had receipts for about $8k worth of work that had been done on the car in the past two years (RMS, water pump, window regulators, brake pads and rotors, tires, starter motor, etc.). On top of that, the previous owner had an aftermarket warranty that still had some time left on it. I transferred the warranty to my name and was able to get the labor for a new clutch and IMS covered as part of a second RMS replacement.
Personally, I think I got a great deal on a very well taken care of, fully documented car. What do you guys think?

From everyone posts, most of us got pretty good deals. I'm from Michigan and had to travel to California to get mine. I stay pretty up to date with Michigan Porsche prices and a lot of owners are out of their minds, on Craigslist and AutoTrader, for example I will see a 99 C2 with 80,000 miles and they want like $30K+ then that car by all standards is $15K-$25K depending on Color and Options.

What you paid is irrelevant as long as you are happy with your purchase. I think you did great. I paid 32 for mine in November, '10, its an 02. Enjoy it, give it love, drive the hell out of it and know you are driving an extremely reliable car.

I make it a point to not discuss what I paid for my car on internet forums.
First, it's water under the bridge. It's not like you can go back and renegotiate.
Second, one group of people will tell you that you're right on the mark, another group will say you paid too much and a third group will not believe your post.
Finally, I'm happy enough with the car and the price that I was willing to pay the seller's price. Hearing something to the contrary can only diminish the pleasure I derive from owning this car. Why do something to lessen my happiness?

Are those rear pieces behind the wheels part of the rear bumper kit or can they be added on? I have the flared rocker panels but nothing else. I'd like something in the back but I don't really know what.
Is that an '01? You need a black rear center console. Should be required to break up the peanut butter...

Nice deals wish i would have waited i paid 24500 for my 01 with aero kit with 67000 miles in September 07. drove it for 3 years and then needed the rms work done 10k more. Now I'm at 99000 miles and i'd be lucky to get 15 k. Oh well it has been fun

It sounds like you got an incredible deal in '07. That's four years ago. There are people with asking prices around that still! The fact that you spent $10k more is a risk with any used car like this. I think you have done very well really.
