Interest in a simple non-MOST iPod connector?
Count me in for an adapter that would allow me to have any level of control / display on my CDR-220. I have an older 80GB iPod, so if anyone wants to get rid of an old adapter cable, let me know.
FYI - I just bought the iPod cable for CDR220 from Becker this week. I was expecting the price to be $30 to $60 as I had read in various threads. The actual price was $109.99, plus $10.99 for the keys and $12.99 for shipping. This is a single cable that connects the iPod to the Becker CDR220 and charges the unit as well. It works for all iPods, including the very latest 4G iPod Touch and iPhone. The Becker rep said that the newer iPods use a different voltage than previous models, so there are some electronics built into a the cable to accommodate the various models. This is the reason he gave for the large price increase. The cable has a rectangular box attached about 8 inches from the end that connects to the radio.
If you use this cable, make sure you thread it from the left side of the console, so there is a space for that box. Otherwise you won't be able to get the radio back in.
Also, the radio will not automatically detect the Aux input. You have to configure it by going into the radio's set up mode. Turn the radio on, and while it's displaying "Porsche", hold down the TP button until the display changes to "Becker". Then use the right **** to cycle through the various settings until you get to "AUX". Then select "on". Unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way as the cable came with no instructions.
Pricey yes, but the sound is great. This is my first iPod and this 4G iPod touch is an incredible piece of technology. It's only about as thick as two stacked quarters, and has built in WiFi, cameras on the front and back, and shoots stills and high-def video. I "Jailbroke" it so I could eliminate most of the icons that would have blocked the Porsche crest that I have as wallpaper.

What the hek is MOST and non MOST, i dont understand anything about these radios..i want to get my ipod working but when i plug the casette connector there is horrible static, then FM sucks...its a 2002 with 6 disc cd changer, Bose system (tape deck)
Most system uses a plastic fiber optic cables for the head unit to communicate with the amp & cd changer. Non-most uses regular copper wires.
