little running issue..

Hey guys, my 2000 996 w 48k miles runs funny..

By funny i mean that after a cold start, For example the idle will go up and down (not severe jumps but a bit), When I step on the gas however right after a cold start, it will bog down especially around 4K rpm.

Now on the other hand, once the vehicle is warmed up, it runs like a charm!!

Any clue on what this is? I have a K&N Intake, so I figure maybe MAF is shot?

Is it still safe to drive her, once she is warned up?

Thanks,
Paul

Are you sure its not btw 2.5-3k? Mine does that also for a few minutes. It doesn't bog but rpms fluctuate a little with gas. I believe its the variocams. My 986 did that also.

ugh i dont have $200+ for maf >_< right now..

do you guys think its still ok to drive after it warms up?

the fluctuations are when its idling.. around 1k, but it hesitates around 4k

I bet your throttle body needs cleaning & new sparkplugs if you never replaced before.
