Winter wheel suggestions
Winter wheel suggestions
I bought an '02 C4 cab in September '09 that came with 18" Pirelli wintersport tires. This spring I put on summer tires and now that snow is on the way I'm thinking about getting a set of wheels for the winter tires. Any suggestions for relatively inexpensive wheels?
Thanks
Thanks
Get some Factory 17" Wheels any kind that is cheap and some 17" Rubber
Some Wheels like these OEM Wheels CHEAP!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-po...Q5fAccessories
And you will need 205/50/17 Front & 225/45/17 Rear for 8.5" Wide Rear Wheels. If you get 9" Wide Rear Wheel you will need 255/40/17 Tires
33psi front & 36psi rear for Half Load and 36psi front & 43psi rear for Full Load

Winter wheels
Thanks but I already have the 18" snows, Pirelli Wintersport P240's that came with the car so I thought that I'd go with 18" wheels. Will I see a significant decrease in snow performance with the 18"s? I don't intend to take the car out much in the snow anyway so I guess that it is not that big an issue anyway.
I tend to disagree with Zookie on the use of the 17" wheels and particularly the narrow tires. While the narrow tires will provide some benefit in the snow, particularly deep snow, by allowing the tires to dig through the snow more, you will sacrifice a lot of performance when the roads are not snow covered.
I have run the standard 225/40-18 and 265/35-18 tires, Dunlop Wintersports, for 10 years now. Great in the snow while still giving good performance on wet/dry pavement.
I don't think that 17" vs. 18" really has any effect at all in the snow.

I have some 18" OEM wheels from my 2000 c2 cab that are looking for a good home.
i am not looking to make big bucks so any unembarrassing offer will work.
however, they are in california and i really don't want to deal with shipping
- but let me know if you are interested.
they have a little curb rash but nothing too bad. no crashes, or serious dings etc
here's a pic of the wheels....

this is the only close up i have....
