Carrera 4 Cab with Hard Top - Can retrofit soft top?
I haven't taken off the hard top yet - would it be possible to have a soft top in the car already, or is it possible to retrofit a soft top if I wanted to in the car?
Thanks, sorry if this is a dumb question.

To clarify on the previous post -- unless it was a custom job (cutting the roof off a coupe), it will have a stowed soft top already. Just remove the hard top and raise the soft top.
Remove the hardtop, pull the handbrake and press the top switch. Hopefully there isn't any damage to the softtop. I've seen a couple cab's with hardtops and when I asked to the softtop, there were tears or the rear plastic window was torn.
Just took hard top off for first time. Soft top comes up good but it is definitely old and needs to be repaired, or replaced.
What will this cost me at Porsche dealer...can indy shops do this also?

I think I was quoted 2.5k? or so a couple years back from the dealer.
I'd definatly go aftermarket and if yours is plastic, I'd upgrade to glass. Call local shops. I've found many shops that would do em for 600-1500 depending on if you're replacing the whole top or just the rear plastic/glass.

I had an independent shop install a new aftermarket top GAHH or something.
I opted for the rear glass window. I think the final bill, which included a new headliner and a two year warranty was about $2100.

My plastic rear window started to rip/break at the seam, where its stitched and glued in. Three different shops said I had to replace the top, and if they stitched in a new one, they wouldn't give me a warranty on the work.
Please excuse me as I remove the fishing hook from the inside of my cheek.
Adammich, you're going to have a hell of a Christmas when we tell you about the spoiler button.
