How is Costco Wholesale GAS???

How is Costco Wholesale GAS???

I've always pumped at Chevron. I live in Northern California, I'm just curious of how good Costco gas is. They are always $0.25 cheaper than Chevron, Shell and 76. I pump 91 octane by the way.

As of now gas here is around $3.45/gal at Chevron where at Costco it would be around $3.20 (91 Octane)

I don't know if it will affect the performance, MPG etc.

Anyone heard of any review?

I never fill up in Costco. The additives in the gas such as Techron (Chevron) and Nitrogen (Shell) appeals to me and to several other car enthusiasts. We drive high performance cars. Why skimp on Gas ?

Because it's all the same. There's only a few companies running refineries in this country, so the gas from Costco comes from one of the big names. It's entirely possible it's Chevron or Shell.

But what do I know, I only work in oil and gas for the company that leads the world in information on the industry.

All the gas in your area comes from the same tank. Each company then puts in their own additives, but the base fuel comes from the same tap.

Probably depends where your local Costco gets its gas from. Take a look at the tanker that's filling up the Costco tanks. I'm in Hawaii and see the Aloha gas tankers filling up the costco tanks. Aloha is a top tier gas so I feel okay getting it from there.

Both of you let me get this clear it seems like you're not understanding me. As you have read above all gas comes from the same tank. The difference is the additives each company adds... So it's NOT skimping if it comes in the same tank or supplier. Just want to know why pay more to get the same gas? Is it the Techron or Nitrogen is a plus? If skimp was the issue I would be talking about 87 octane in my tank. Are we clear?

We all know all gas comes from the same major supplier. We all know it's the same gas until the retailers add their additives specialty. we all know it's NOT skimping it's finding out why the other retailers cost more than others...we all know skimping isn't the issue.... Now back on topic.
