But hey that's just my 2 cents.

I witnessed a teenager doing something similar 10 years back, except that he crushed a man waiting to cross the street with his 2 little girls... the dad pushed the girls out of the way but he died right in front of them... his last words, "I can't breathe !!!

Something inside me snapped... I have never beaten on someone like that, that teenager and myself were lucky the cops showed up when they did...
I got charged with aggravated assault and for the teenagers (21)... hospital, jail (bait) and sh#t jobs for the rest of his life!

As to the kid with the Porsche...I think the dad has been waaaaaaay to soft with him!

One day the dad is going to kick himself that he didn't gave his son a hard lesson in accountability.

Wow Sid I can see where you got your screen name!
Joking aside that's is one sad sad story. Poor kids witnessing that
Senseless accidents by reckless people. I had a teenager pull up next to me few months back in a GTI, rev his engine (looking to race on the busy highway at night)
I ignored him....saw the same car (different driver) a month later pulled over on the street after hitting a parked car...a C2 at that.
I wanted to strangle the life out of him. At least he didn't kill anyone.
I suppose everyone wants to be Vin Diesel fast and furious.

This is an amazing story!
Was Tom Cruise waiting for him at home with Rebecca De Mornay?

That was his story.. apparently he finished his 'drift' then instead of pumping the gas he braked (in which he lost control) - so the car is at low speed(?)

At least he practiced on Gran Turismo 5

Got the nickname way before that... go figure

Yeah Vin is the man!

It's rare that you'll see a nice car cause an accident, that's because we loooove are cars
So although we do open them up, I think we do it in a relatively safe manner and because everyone knows Porsche's are fast there's nothing to prove (especially in a turbo) .

Oh don't get me wrong I've done some stupid things in my time... I get the young and stupid thing, life fueled by testosterone .
But when it came to bystanders or passengers, lets just say commonsense should be applied!

Your cousin is damn lucky no-one was hurt!
After he recuperates from the #ss kicking he hopefully gets and having to pay for damages + stupidity interest... he should go to his local track and do some drifting there, he'll very quickly learn that it's not like a video game and that taking a curve at a 100mhr is at the very top end of the speed, most drifts are initiated waaaay below that... and NEVER on a public road!

Anyway hope his dad grows some ***** and makes sure your cousin's only ride will be a boot up his backside and then a bicycle for the next 5 years!

Happy new year guys!

Sid.

No in Toronto and I'm pretty sure the 3 girls in the back seat and the kid in the front seat have had their lives impacted severely too.
By no means as much as the 2 little muchkins of course but still one moment of stupidity can have quiet an impact on a whole lot of lives.

Just re-affirmed for me to live life to the fullest 'cause it can be over in a flash...

Didn't look like much damage for losing it at 100mph drifting. That kind of damage is usually results in side impact damage...not front. Over this way vie noticed green cars have natural tendency of hitting into things real frequently so my guess is that this kid made up some tough *** story that he was breaking the land speed record in pappas porsche when in reality he probably did that trying to get the friggin thing out of the garage. Either way he needs an *** whipping for being such a dumb ***.

It was at Avenue Rd. and Davenport (evening) so lots of people around but everyone was just standing there, frozen and utterly silent... in all fairness, I don't blame the cops, I mean I was out of control for all they knew I was a Psycho...rrrrrh, aaaaahm oh never mind

Luckily in the end my charges where dismissed ("technicality").

+1 yep I think you're right!
The damages don't ad up, he probably did lose control on the street but it doesn't look bad enough for jumping a curb at 20 mph never mind 100!!! anyone who tells stories of 100mph drifts has to be either a champ, drunk or has never actually really drifted...

This is a pic at 45/50 mph with special camber, toe, tires set up on a smooth track...really cant see a kid doing one twice as fast on a public road with a stock Porsche that has an engine hanging over the rear-end .
That said he screw up that Porsche pretty good...

Ya, that's probably a case for 'temporary insanity' if they did go through w/ the charges. That obviously was an extremely emotionally charged event.
