rubber bumpers between the coils

I don't post much but I do read this forum a lot and I really apprectiate the great information that a lot of you share. I have an 04' 40th anniv. 911 that comes with the sports suspension and is lowered and the result is a rather stiff/harsh ride. The car is probably set up gereat for the track but it is a bit much around town and is a bit skittush at high speeds over even the smallest road iregularities. There are very hard green rubber blocks inserted between the front coils. My question for you is what do you think the result would be if I removed them? They are in the front only. Thanks in advance.

Good grief! That's exactly what they are. I just called my dealer, Newport Auto Center and sure enough they are "transportation" blocks which should have been removed as soon as the car hit their dealership They said that by removing them it would "improve the ride" I knew that this was the place to ask the question. Thanks much Andy!

And today's question: which moron did the PDI on that car, and is that the same moron who washes it before delivery to add the extra swirl marks?

Good grief.

Who lowered it? I noticed some aftermarket stuff on the signature line, so does it have an aftermarket spring and strut kit?

If so, that's the people you should direct your anger. There are so few coils on that spring, it's almost a solid suspension with that block in there...

It looks like it's about to pop out by itself anyway...

Yeah, I didn't notice that 'lowered' comment before, how did they do it? Just cut down the springs?
BTW, your car is way too clean, get out there and drive it!

It came lowered, along with a sports suspension and PSM.

"To make your driving experience even more immediate, the suspension is more rigid and the chassis is 10 mm lower than in the standard production editions. The extra mechanical rear differential lock, standard in the anniversary edition, ensures improved rear wheel drive traction and thus improved acceleration potential. A definite advantage when accelerating out of tight curves, for example."

This is my 1st Porsche in a long time and I got the 40th because it came with pretty much everything I wanted. That was before I knew about 6speedonline and discovered how much fun you can have with mods
