I need a dealer recommendation for service in So Cal

I purchased my car from Pacific Porsche and had a wonderful buying experience. However, the inner lining of my top has come apart many times where it meets the latch to connect to the windshield(I have a 2004 boxster). I promptly took it to the dealer after 2 days of ownership and the car basically sat there for 2 weeks waiting for a part. I was more then aggravated.

Upon leaving the dealership after 2weeks, the headliner came apart again, unsatisfied with the job that Pacific Porsche had performed I took it to Newport Porsche(closer to where I live). My car still hadn't recieved my plates yet, and as they were pulling the car out, they rammed the side of my bumper into a construction picket. A huge scratch appeared on the passenger side of my first porsche and I was pissed. To make a long struggle short, they gave me $500 credit and I buffed out the bumper and left the nick on there. Once again after a couple weeks, the headliner came apart worst then ever and Newport POrsche's excuse was, "who ever put the headliner in last time, did an awful job and that is why it came apart." With that message, I vowed never to service my car again at NPP.

Now with that in mind, my headliner once again has come apart, I am so angry and frustrated. I just want to go to home depot, and put some screws through the headliner and attach it to my latch permenatly and paint the bolts black. I am going to have it fixed one more time, and if it comes apart again, I am remedying my own fix.

I just want a good dealer recommendation for service. I f you have a specific advisor you have good friendship with and they can really help me out, please give me his or her name with your ref.

I am tired of this, and clearly frustrated.

Regards
Frank

Funny, my BEST service experience was at Newport. They took care of my Boxster very well and went above and beyond what is normal. Now my 996 is serviced at McKenna and I DO NOT give them a good referral. I bought my car from them and that is the ONLY reason I go back. It has been back for lots of stuff, and had issues when I bought it, even though it was a certified car. Now the engine was replaced and all seems well, but 9 months of sorting everything out. If you are close to Newport, take it back there and tell a service manager your concerns, they will usually put one of their top guys on it for you and that is usually better...

ive delt with the service manager there. His name is Bill. He is the one that gave me $500credit. I went to him directly many times about my horrible service advisor Cookie. All he said was, " she is doing her best." I would never get a call on the status of my car, 2 times, my repair orders were not even done after days of waiting for my car and I had to leave dissappointed. I would ask Bill basically, "wtf is up with this," and the answer is, "never happened to anyone else before, I cant help you there." My dealings with Bill and his staff is arrogance, laziness and not a care in the world about customer satisfaction. I gave them 3 bad reports in a row and I got a call from Bill. He asked why I gave them those scores instead of consulting to him about it. I basically told that I did go to him and he just brushed me off and dismissed my comments. He basically made it seem like everything was my fault and that grade was undeserved. Go figure

I did go to another service advisor after my experience with Cookie. Don was his name and he was a lot better however I get better customer service at my local toyota service department when I had to get a tuneup for my Tundra then at my local POrsche dealer.

it's hard to tell people where to go. i used to refer people to places i like but doesn't mean they'd get the job done right or any special care. i'm not the one doing the job so i can't promise anything. but if u want to try someone at least i know & feel comfortable with PM me for detail.

Agreed Arling...I find that each person has a different experience depending on what is wrong, and how long it takes to fix and how they are dealt with. Oh phrankandbeanz, you will generally get better service for a Japanese car than a German one, period...My Lexus service was without question the best service I have ever had, but it was NOWHERE near the fun of my 996...

Yeah, I'd be curious to hear where would be a good place as well.
Long Beach Circle sucked as they scratched up my leather dash in several spots, Pacific is so-so since Dan left, and there is no way in hell I'd go to McKenna -they all are POSs there.

Andial is the best, but I wish they did warranty work.

Also, is there anyone on the board with bypass pipes on their Cayennes that know of a dealer that doesn't hassle them about them? Just want to know in case I have to go and don't want to take them off.

so today I dropped my car off at Walter's Porsche with Angie. I called this morning at 8am and she said to just bring in the car today and she will have it ready for me, no ques asked. I got in and out of their service department in 10min, then went over to enterprise(enterprise is in the MBZ dealer across the street), and left their in a matter of another 10min with a brand new MBZ c230 as my rental. I am satisfied upto this point. We will see how the actual repair goes.

FYI, there was a silver Carrera GT, silver MBZ SLR, black sl65 AMG, and an ugly maybach all the in same showroom floor. I was amazed at the level of high quality cars they had.

i will keep you guys updated on the overall experience.
