rabkay is infamous around these parts
what is the difference?

on my 2002 carerra 2 i have the 18" wheels - currently 225/40/18 and 285/30/18

what would be different if i used 265/35/18 on the rear wheels?

how do we all feel about the so3's? also have you noticed the sizes used on the 997 -235/40/18 and 265/40/18 -how would that work on a 996?

thanks, larry

I would stick with the 285's they look so much nicer, and I think the difference in $ is $20-$30 each??

My cheapo previous owner put 265's on the rear. The manual shows 265 for snow tires, so they fit.

The tire has a slightly rounded look which can actually look a little more old school, and is the way the stock tires looked on my Viper GTS, so I like it. Considering the whole 911 is a little old school, it fits. My fronts are 225, and I just put new rims that are 8.5 in front, so the fronts now have the matching rounded look.

Another angle

This angle shows the sidewalls a little better...
