My passenger windows auto up/down function has stopped working. Normally you hit your button briefly and the window would go all the way down or all the way up. My sunroof and driver's side window still work.

On my wife's Mazda 6 we bought used it didn't work and turned out to simply be someone programmed the car to turn that function off. We were able to get it to start working again by doing some steps involving the key and ignition.

Is this possibly what is going on with my window? I did some searching and haven't found anything yet.

And by the way, I had the window regulator on that window replaced, OEM at the local Porsche dealer last September. So I hope its not the regulator going out already. Other than not going down or up automatically the window appears to be working just fine.

 

You need to re program your window.
push and hold the down button till window is all the way down and hold the button down another 10 seconds....then push and hold the button up till the window goes all the way up and hold it for 10 seconds....
That should do it.

 

win911, fantastic, thanks for the tip. That is exactly what was wrong. Followed your procedures and now the auto up & down work as before.

 

Apparently this setting is lost whenever the car's battery is disconnected. I had some work done on mine, battery was disco by the shop, and when I got it back the passenger window would not auto up or down.

That happened to my 06 vette as well. Thank god its an easy fix! Good to know .
